Foothills Plaza - Case Study
When taking on a new listing, the primary objective should always be to achieve full occupancy of the center. Simultaneously, you should want to ensure that you are meeting your client's requirements, setting them up to maximize the assets total value, whether they intend to hold or sell the property. Doing so not only enhances the property's value but also provides flexibility for potential future sales.
In just 2 years, our team transformed Foothills Plaza from a $26.5M asset to a $40M asset.

Hospitality Groups Taking Over
For the last several years, consumers have been chasing the best dining experiences around the world. With the help of social media, it allows for people to find the flashiest coolest concepts that have individual personalities. Restaurant groups have gotten smart and investors are pitching in to help support these restaurant groups in getting as creative as possible with the concepts, over the top build outs, and menu offerings.
Some of these hospitality groups own and operate anywhere from a handful of locations to over a hundred locations. And some of these groups are performing alongside of some of the biggest chains in America.

Huge shout out to Henry Renaud and his team for putting together such an amazing event!
Some of you may be wondering, why did you go to the Northeastern RBN retreat? Well I am here to tell you why and all about the cool things I learned and got to explore on this trip.

Entertainment Capital of the World… or Outdoor Enthusiast Hot Spot? - Part 2! A Long Weekend
It’s been 8 Months since we published Part 1: Day trips! I hope you were able to explore some of our local hot spots that didn’t require tipping the bouncer to skip the line, or a high bar minimum for a night that you likely won’t remember. If you missed Part 1: Day Trips, check that out below.
I was raised in a family that spent our vacations camping and boating all over the Southwest. Then later married an outdoorsman who loves a weekend adventure. With these fine qualifications, I give you my top 3 long weekend trips.
Las Vegas vs The Recession - Rematch
It’s no secret that we have officially hit a recession. Some indicators being corporate layoffs, high interest rates, slowing down of sales in the real estate market, etc. Now most of you reading this are very familiar with the market crash of 2008 and how it impacted Las Vegas. While people can’t help but be nervous that something similar will happen to the Vegas economy this time around, I am here comfort you by saying, I am feeling pretty bullish on Vegas going into 2023 and here's why…
Restaurant Finance & Development Conference (RFDC) Recap 2022
Last month the RFDC was in my hometown of Las Vegas again. I’ve been going to this show since 2015, and if you have never attended and do anything that has to do with the restaurant business I would highly recommend it. This year is was hosted at the Wynn from Monday – Wednesday (November 14th – 16th).
Who goes to this show? High level executives and owners that are very meaningful to the restaurant business. Economists, bankers, equipment suppliers and lots of corporate and private restaurant owners and operators.
Things to Do for the 2022 Holiday Season in Las Vegas
While Las Vegas may not be the first place you think of when it comes to winter festivities, it sure has a lot to offer. In true Vegas fashion, there are plenty of over the top experiences offered to the locals and visitors this 2022 Holiday Season. We put together a list of attractions and experiences that will help kick off the holiday season. Enjoy!
ICSC San Diego Recap
Last month, ICSC hosted the Western Regional conference for the first time back in San Diego since 2018. Going into this year’s regional conference, there was a lot of hearsay that it would not be as good as it traditionally has been due to the lower number of registrants. I personally had not been to an ICSC Regional Conference before, so I really didn’t have anything to compare it to. Traditionally it is a lot of our clients and local brokers favorite convention, so I willing to take a chance, plus it was being hosted in San Diego the home of my alma mater – Go Toreros, so I have another excuse to get down there!
RBN Conference Recap - Music City, USA
Last week, Isabella Sorrentino, Chris Waldburger, and I, as well as over 30 other RBN members from around the country embarked on a trip to the Music City representing ROI Commercial Real Estate for the Retail Brokers Network (RBN) Southeast Regional Retreat.
If you ever visit Nashville and decide to venture out past Lower Broadway and the Honky Tonks (fun fact – all establishments that serve liquor on Lower Broadway are required to have live music until 2am), you’ll find that Nashville is a fascinating place.
Here’s what we learned!
Back to School - Then VS Now
In light of everyone going back to school this month, we thought it would be fun to do a then vs now essential back to school items.
Pretty interesting how things have changed over the last few decades.
We asked our team what they looked forward to most about school as well.
Enjoy!
Sorrentino Retail Group Goes to King’s Kamp!
Last week, the Sorrentino Retail Group was lucky enough to be invited to an eye-opening broker’s tour, also known as King’s Kamp, put on by the King’s Seafood Company. On this trip, we were accompanied by 12 other agents that work with King’s in the California and Arizona markets. The objective of this trip was for King’s to give their brokers a behind the scenes look at the company and educate us on their history and brand.
Allow for me to give you an inside look at my experience at King’s Kamp. I hope you’re not hungry going into reading this, because I can promise you will be after.
Let’s dive right in!
Entertainment Capital of the World…or Outdoor Enthusiast Hot Spot?
Entertainment Capital of the World…or Outdoor Enthusiast Hot Spot? Part 1: Day Trips – these can all be visited in a day with an early start time.
There is so much more to our glorious city than slot machines, table games, night clubs, expensive dinners, and 3-foot daiquiris.
I convinced my now-husband (then-boyfriend) to move to Las Vegas by echoing the claims of an old National Geographic article I read as a teenager: that Las Vegas was an ideal place for any outdoorsman because of its proximity to so many national and state parks. I grew up in Boulder City and spent much of my childhood camping and boating all over the Southwest. I couldn’t wait to share those experiences with him… and now I am sharing some of that insight with you.
So, grab your favorite road trip snacks, a good amount of water, your favorite play list, and let’s hit the road.
VEGAS BABY! ICSC May 2022
Probably the second most likely conversation you will overhear among retail real estate people (#1 is the Johnny Depp/ Amber Heard trial - which by the way, he won!), is whether ICSC conventions will ever come back to their pre-pandemic form and whether you ever need go to another show.
Leading up to this May and speaking to lots of other brokers and retailers across the country, there was a ‘wait and see’ approach as to whether they were going to pull the trigger and come to the show this year. Well sure enough, it was well attended and a lot of great deal making was ready to be made.
So, after a 3-year hiatus of the May ICSC show in Las Vegas, here’s some observations I made:
Things to Do at ICSC 2022 in Las Vegas
For those of you that have not been back to Las Vegas since the last ICSC in 2019, there have been a few new attractions, hotels, restaurants, and more that have been added to Las Vegas since then.
Here is a list of things to check out while you are in between meetings or if you have some spare time while you are in town this trip!
Sitting Pretty in a Male Dominated Industry
Sitting Pretty in a Male Dominated Industry – The do’s and don’ts of mentoring young women into brilliant brokers.
In honor of Women’s History Month, I wanted to shed light on one of the biggest obstacles facing my female peers in this male dominated industry.
Don’t worry boys! I’m not spotlighting the “butt-brushers” with a #MeToo exposé, or handing out an award for the highly skilled “man-splainers” (you’re off the hook, for now).
I’m talking about woman on woman crime…
Evolving Retail, its Employees, and Where We are Headed
On the first weekend in February, I got stuck in Dallas for “Snowpocalypse 2.0” when my connecting flight (along with 4,800 other flights) got cancelled due to the big snow/ice/freeze storm that shut the city down. It’s pretty nuts to see a city as big as Dallas get shut down – I mean stores, ground transportation, and anything that required a person to make it happen was virtually non-existent.
This got me thinking.
