Things to Do at ICSC 2022 in Las Vegas

For those of you that have not been back to Las Vegas since the last ICSC in 2019, there have been a few new attractions, hotels, restaurants, and more that have been added to Las Vegas since then. Here is a list of things to check out while you are in between meetings or if you have some spare time while you are in town this trip!

New Projects that Just Opened

The Loop at Las Vegas Convention Center - a three-station transportation system consisting of 1.7 miles of tunnel that was built in approximately one year, using the now-legacy Godot Tunnel Boring Machine. LVCC Loop's cost was approximately $47 million for the two tunnels and three stations (two surface and one subsurface). Tunneling occurred during large conventions (over 100,000 attendees pre-COVID) with zero road closures and zero disturbances. LVCC Loop connects the LVCC West Hall with the existing campus (North/Central/South Halls), and reduces a 45-minute cross-campus journey time to approximately two minutes.

Resorts World - brand new resort and casino that opened this past June of 2021. Offering a brand new experience to the Las Vegas strip. Check out their world class dining, experiences, hotel rooms, casino, shows, and more.

Property History: The property had been the site of the Stardust Resort and Casino until 2007, when Boyd Gaming demolished the resort to develop its Echelon Place project. Boyd halted construction in 2008 due to poor economic conditions and sold the property to Genting Group in March 2013. Genting immediately announced plans to redevelop the site as Resorts World Las Vegas, part of its Resorts World brand. The project re-used some of the partially finished Echelon buildings, including hotel and parking garage structures.

Circa Resort & Casino - newest resort and casino built in Downtown Las Vegas since 1980. Here you will find fantastic dining at Barry’s Downtown Prime, a breathtaking view at the top bar Legacy Club, the iconic Vegas Vickie in the middle of the casino floor, a multi-level stadium style sports book with the biggest screen in sportsbook history. This casino also includes a notable pool deck with several pools and a massive screen with the latest high-resolution technology offering a unique watch-party atmosphere for sunseekers and sports fans. Two more fun facts: the hotel has (lucky number) 777 hotel rooms and a grand parking structure with a fabulous name, Garage Mahal!

Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas’ newest crown jewel and home of the Las Vegas Raiders Football Team!! Highly recommend checking out this state of the art facility. They will be running tours this weekend for visitors to come and see what it means to be apart of Raider Nation.

New Projects that are Under Construction

MSG Sphere - Madison Square Garden Entertainment’s newest medium and multisensory platform for today’s artists. This $1.8 billion performance venue is unlike anything you’ve ever seen, and it’s scheduled to open in 2023. The Sphere will be able to hold over 20,000 people and have160,000 SF of interior immersive display screens with ground breaking spatialized audio format and full 4D effects.

Fountainebleau Hotel - Formerly known as the Drew Las Vegas, is under construction yet again. It sits on 24.5 acres and was previously home to the El Rancho Hotel & Casino and Algiers Hotel. The initial construction on this site started in 2005 and has been halted and repurchased multiple times. This 67 story resort is set to open in 2023.
